Guest information
We hope you feel totally at home in The Bothy on the Green during your stay.
Dan and I will not come into the Bothy while you are here. We will leave you with enough breakfast items for the duration of your stay but if you need anything at all, please contact us by text, or ring the doorbell on the back of the door in kitchen area.
Parking
Please park on the road by the green at the front of the house. It is very safe here but worth making sure you are tucked in, with your wing mirrors pushed in.
Getting in from the front of the house
Please walk up the left-hand side of the house, past the wood store on your right and into the gravelled yard. The last door on the righthand side of the house is the Bothy’s door. It is green and has two blue chairs outside it (for your use if the sun shines). There is a key box on the left of the door and the code will be texted to you before you arrive.
If you arrive in the dark, there is a square white switch at the bottom of the first stone steps that turn on the outside lights to light your way up the side of the house.
Getting in from the back of the house
Our garage is made of wood with a grass roof. It is on the left hand side, four houses down. Walk past the turquoise door of the garage and down the steps. Walk under the bamboo arch and the Bothy door is at the bottom of the stairs on the left. It is green and has two blue chairs outside it (for your use if the sun shines). There is a key box on the left of the door and the code will be texted to you before you arrive.
If you arrive in the dark, there is a square white switch on the wall of the garage that turns on the outside lights to light your way to the Bothy door.
The table
In the kitchen is a fold up table. The table leg is beside it and needs slotting in once the table is level. Please use the coasters and mats provided if you are putting anything hot on the table.
Breakfast
We have provided a choice of tea, coffee (instant and ground), orange juice and a choice of cereals. There is also bread, butter and homemade jams. There is milk and butter in the fridge. Please let us know if you have any food intolerances and we will do our best to cater for your needs.
Rubbish
Please put your rubbish in the black wheely bin by the shed at top of the garden if you fill your bins during your stay. There are blue recycling boxes on the left as you walk up there, so please do add glass and paper/cardboard into the appropriate boxes. The blue bag in the same area is for plastic.
Heating and hot water
There should be plenty of hot water whenever you need it.
The towel rail can be turned on or off from the switch in the bedroom on the wall to the left of the bathroom.
The radiator in the bedroom can be adjusted using the thermostat attached to it.
The heater in the kitchen can be turned on by pressing the right-hand button. You can adjust the temperature on the small screen using the + and – buttons.
Please do let us know if you are cold. We have an extra heater we can give you if you would like it.
The thermostat is in the hanging space in the bedroom to adjust the heating.
TV
Turn the TV on and press the home button (looks like a little house in the middle of the remote) From here you can select all the internet channels. We have logged the TV into our iPlayer so please feel free to watch anything on there. You might want to log in to your own Netflix account etc as it is all there for you. There is no live TV available on this I am afraid.
Wifi
Available throughout.
At the end of your stay
We would really appreciate it if you could strip the bed(s) and put everything, including your towels, in a pile. If you run out of time, please don’t worry about doing this.
Please ensure all windows are properly closed and all appliances, including the towel rail and TV, are switched off. We would appreciate you turning the thermostat down to its lowest setting.
Please lock the door and put the keys back in the lock box.
The cat
We have a very friendly ginger cat called Rosie. She might try and come into the BNB but, unless you really want her company, don’t let her in, or shoo her out of your door into the garden. If you really do not like cats, please let us know and we will ensure she comes nowhere near you.
